  1. there are many locations, for practice, including silverstone, there are 6 Eurodrift events in 2008, plus the EDC events
  2. come to the Uk for a week and drift............. :swizz:
  3. a vid found on You Tube...i am at about 4:30 Eurodrift Open Championship 2007
  4. well this weekend gone i travelled upto Teeside NE England to take part in the end of year open championship after the 8 hour drive up, i unloaded, and went straight out for an evening practice(Friday), did 4 laps and killed a set of 255's........hmm not looking good for the Saturday.....i only took 3 sets of rims and 2 spare tyres. Saturday morning started with open practice......i was struggling to get to grips with one of the corners, basically, i was carrying too much speed into the corners, so after some excellent advice, i started my initiations about 15 meters before everyone else......this gave me the extra distance to get the car controlled, sideways and lined up for the first corner got the corners licked and waited for qualifying....... qualifying came i did 3 runs, 1 practice and came away with semi decent scores..., total gave me a 121 point score after qualifying the results were given out, i had come 9th, so didnt quite make the Top 8....( the last qualifying score for one of the pro drivers was 104) anyway, because 3 of the top 8 drivers didnt have a Roll cage they were not permitted to go into the top 16 with the pro drivers, i was given the wild card to enter..... now, the pressure was on. we moved to the bigger, much much faster track, and again did an hour of open practice, never before had i done 3rd gear full power drifts. sheesh its fast, initiating on the handbrake at speeds around 90-95 mph and drifting the top bend was awesome, in the twin drift i was lined up against James Russell (who eventually came 3rd overall), but by this point i was having issues with the clutch, or should i say lack of clutch pedal!! went into the practice run.....and i was bloody blinded by my shift light......... so i had to back of as i couldn't see shit (it was night time now) so i re angled it(i bent it out the way) we lined up for the first judged run, James leading, i got mid long curve and couldn't change down for the hairpin, i was carrying too much speed, and span.....ah well 2nd judged run, i was leading, i thought....hell go balls out, and i absolutely caned it into the curve, i was hitting 95+mph and on the limiter in 3rd, the car sailed round the curve, and was beautifully aiming for the hairpin, i went to change down to second, tweaked the handbrake to scrub of some speed, it felt perfect.... ................i was out of 3rd, but had no pedal to select another gear, i hoped if i persuaded the Gears to select, id get 3rd again....nope, i got first, let up on the remaining bit of pressure id persuaded the clutch to give, and had 1st gear, it locked up the back end, and spun me, i was totally gutted the car stalled, and i couldn't move it for a few moments as it was stuck in first, after a bit of frantic pumping, i managed to get it out, started and off the track.... it was an amazing weekend to say the least.... i hit the tyre wall, i lost the bumper........i used 80l fuel, im tired and aching, but id do it again right now if i could. (interestingly the clutch now seems fine, so there must be air in the lines somewhere) (Discovery Channel and Sky TV were there Filming) Bring on next season!!
  5. been doing some more woork... new re-inforced lower arms, and adjustable trac control and adjustable control arm relocated HKS oil cooler....
  6. i live in Wiltshire........this car patrols the Autobahn M4
  7. i just modified the inner part of the wing to accept the lights
  8. had the car down at TDI yesterday getting the car corner wighted, and the chassis dynamics set up on there new 3d John Bean Arago alignment machine........ all i can say is WOW.... this thing is amazing, it takes every possible measurement you could possibly ever ever need i mean its serious motorsport stuff.......... anyway the car was fitted with some suspension parts i developed for the car....and the settings were adjusted. I opted for the ideal settings to preserve the rear tyres and allow a better footprint. Rear Camber -1 degree Toe 0 Front Camber - 3 degrees Toe 0 Castor + 6 degrees We used the natural rear camber adjusters until they "maxed out" then the new "white rods" to conclude the angles.... Reason for this is that i wanted as many threads as possible "inside" the adjustable rods to retain strength. Also i opted to correct the front camber positions using the natural adjusters because this would keep the KPI declined.... This is beneficial as an aid to return the steering since the "non-adjustable" castor finished at 6 degrees. The lock angles and TOOT are still subject to testing.... I think this is wise since today's transition needs feedback. From this we can work on tuning the calibration rather than "blanket bombing" it in one session The car on the corner weights and john bean arago John Bean - Automotive Wheel Service Equipment the work was done at TDI by Tony Bones, a true geometry genius from Wheels In Motion Wheels-InMotion
  9. well the boot side of things is done..... the fuel system is finished and works great....... i may consider a fuel cooler at some point, i need to keep an eye on fuel temps as the swirl pot get hot during prolonged use.... battery is now mounted as well, still need to wire in the electrical cut out, and a few small bits and bobs.........well, its never really going to ever be finished it it..? heres a couple of shots from JAE 07
  10. shame you wont make JAE Jens.......Mike has said he tried to get you to come over still waiting for the call.........
  11. Hi Mike, the stuff is all possitioned in a way that it would have to be a considerable impact to hit the fuel cell or pumps, all the pipes will have enough movement in them to allow the different parts of the system to move in different directions without splitting any of the fuel lines. coupled with the fact that there is an emergency electrical cutout which will disable all the pumps and the cars electrics at the push of a button.
