engine is out, all the brake lines are now removed, all the fuel system is completely removed, all that is still left to remove.....is the rear subframe so i can build it up, brace it and generally beef it up, before getting it powder coated.

some pics..

Engine out, suspended on (possibly massive overkill) a 10 ton overhead crane

engine_out_1.sized.jpg

The fuel system, handbrake cable and fuel tank....now in the skip

engine_out_3.sized.jpg

Lots of space underneath...where the fuel tank used to be......

engine_out_4.sized.jpg

i recon on calculations today (not including engine) that at least another 70 kilo has been ditched in the skip :D

considering how lowered the car was before......the tyres were level with the arch tops, the arch gap is now....nearly 10cm :D

i think im gonna have to get new springs wound.......or i am gonna have to chop another coil or 2 of these TTE coilovers (defo not recommended for road use)

and i had a go at putting the bits together to see what needs to go into what space, ....ive priced up the new pipework for the manifold.......

turbo_manifold_and_downpipe.sized.jpg

supprisingly the Nissan manifold i have has only 1 exhaust port different to the Toyota engine, the flanges are being made up.....this nissan manifold and downpipe will eventually be sold on

you seem confused Mike

fuel is pumped from fuel cell

pb170017.sized.jpg

by these

facet_fuel_pump.sized.jpg

into this

swirl_pot.sized.jpg

from that ^ through 1 huge high pressure high volume pump v

fuel_pump.jpg

to a fuel rail....im making a billet one

fuel_rail.jpg

from that to a fuel pressure regulator

fuel_pressure_regulator.jpg

back to the fuel cell

pb170017.sized.jpg

does that make a little more clearer for you

Cool... same fuel pressure regulator as I have....

... I saw you watching it at JAE.... ;)

I don't know which the small ATL racing fuel cell is for??

Don't u use a fuel filter or is it included? :D

Ordinary I'd use Tank (fuel cell), pump, filter, to fuel rail, FPR, back to cell. B)

Why do you need 2 pumps?? Which flow rate do they have?

the fuel swirl pot is fed by the 2 primary pumps

they each feed 159 litres/hour, the swirl pot has a return to the tank, the swirl pot ensures the main pump, and rail are always fed with fuel, during hard acceleration and cornering(drift) due to the possitive pressure return to tank.

also if the main tank ran out of fuel, i would know by a warning light, but have still enough fuel to switch of the engine without running dry......the swirl pot gives a reserve of 1.5 litres.

the main pump has a feed rate of 45psi at 450 pound/hour = 204.1164 kilogram/hour

regards fuel filters there will be the 2 between the primary filters (40 micron) and the swirl tank and a main filter before the main pump after the swirl pot ( 100 micron)

basically a full race fuel system keeps fuel moving around the system
