Ls400 1998 without O2 sensors

Hey guys, i have i 98 ls400 that i have just find out that has no O2 sensors, it runs a little rich and can have a little rough idle it runs great when you drive it, has anyone else came across this? The car is imported from Dubai to hear in Sweden.

ok, why do you know there are no O2 Sesor?

Without O2 Sensor it is not "legal" to run this Car in EU..

I do not know if there is a "Cheating" device installed because normaly without O2 Sensor the Engine failur light should be on.

Not generally speaking.

It is for sure illegal to remove them on a car registered in EU. But in case of an imported car, which doesn't have O2 Sensors from factory its maybe possible to get such car legally registered in the EU.

Have you ever checked the engine bay? Do you see there exhaust manifolds with threaded connections with plugs instead of O2 Sensors?

 

Another question: How do you know the car runs rich?

Die LS wurden ab Werk tatsächlich für GCC-Länder ohne Katalysator ausgeliefert, die Fahrzeuge des Feincode UCF20L-AEAGKV

haben keinen Katalysator im EPC eingetragen.

Außerdem gibt es (auf meinen LS bezogen) für diese beiden Fahrzeuge IMMER einen anderen Kabelbaum, sei es Motorraumkabelbaum, oder Armaturenbrettkabelbaum (ECU <> Lambdasonden geht im Innenraum entlang).

 

Die ECU ist auch eine andere, sogar für Deutschland ist sie von den restlichen Europamodellen zu unterscheiden. 

 

Der Wagen ist nicht mit einfachen Verhältnissen nachzurüsten.

Meiner hat 4 Sonden, 2 zur Regelung, 2 zur Kontrolle der Regelung.
